![]() Now youve obtained the same amount of omber + 150$ * Work a 6 hour shift at mcdonals, profit 150$ * Buy the same amount of isogen it wouldha taken 12 hours mining with the isk you got from youre 6 hours of veldspar mining Shall i break it down for you again? I dont know how to dumbify this further. You are narrowminded and not very good at math. ![]() The concept of opportunity cost they are talking about is a bit of a secret in the real world and is well worth the time to look into it. Like all sales pitches it's oversimplified lacks depth and even smells of deception if not so many people touting it weren't well intentioned. Its possibly just a sales pitch by the big Veldspar people to get us to mine for them. The value per hour argument is a lot less complex in that case. Now if you start counting in all the potential losses I mentioned above that margin gets thinner and thinner until, I bet if you ran the precise numbers it would be within a few percent but only for manufacturers. ![]() 2.5 hours out of every 10? Your ISK production (from mining overall) per hour is about 12% less than someone that mines trit exclusively. during that 25%, you are making iskies also but at a reduced rate so you can't say mining mids is a 100% or even a 25% loss but its more like half of thatif you look at it as a percentage of your total proportional mining time. If you mined everything for yourself you would have to spend 75% of your time mining trit and 25% mining midrange ores. This can all add up to 10% or more if you calculate courier time. obvious ones are transport to market costs to trade the veld, refinery losses, trading fees, and the pressure to sell to buy orders for a fast turn of trit into isogen. ![]() In the big picture the margin is marginal when you consider all the factors. No need to get on the veldspar bandwagon if you don't want to. If Bille doesn't have the crystals you need, Oursalert and Dodixie are close enough. I think they have some MFG facilities there also. It might be more efficient for you to refine there because of standings issues. I would find a system with a Caldari station. It has a nice little system called Bille that is running some trade and a few industrial and mission hubs not far from there. I've seen the GOLD stuff their :) Since omber isn't that valuable today the traffic is low. 5 systems so i bet the omber is plentiful. There is a nice little Gallente region called Everyshore. In the Gallente space you can find omber in. These numbers will go down as you train the skill.Your best bet will involve some travel, Omber will have the Isogen in the highest concentrations and the place to find it in high sec would be Gallente space, Kernite is nicer to look at though and that would be in Amarr space and will fit if you have standings issues which most miners do not have. The below table shows the amount of GJ of fuel needed to compress 100 units of regular ore as well as 10 units of rich ore assuming no Ore Compression skills have been trained. The amount of fuel needed scales up based on the ore that is being compressed. Ore compression can be done in two locations - a Capsuleer Outpost (with the Industry Service Center module installed) or a Corporation Citadel with the fuel being used for compression coming from your personal hanger. Training this skill to 5/5/5 will result in a 50% reduction in fuel consumption when compressing ore. Expert Ore Compression: 2% reduction in fuel cost per level.Advanced Ore Compression: 3% reduction in fuel cost per level.Basic Ore Compression: 5% reduction in fuel cost per level. This skill requires at least Tech level 5 to train. Ore Compression comes with its own skill, which, when trained, will reduce the fuel cost of compressing your ore. This allows you to carry 100 times more ore per volume than it's uncompressed counterpart, allowing for easier hauling to a market and moving ore around to different locations. Compression takes 100 units of regular ore (or 10 units of Rich Ore, which prior to this update was called Condensed Ore) plus some fuel to turn it into 1 unit of Compressed Ore. Being able to compress ore at a Corporation Citadel or Capsuleer Outpost was added to the game in the April 7th, 2021 game update.
